Why My Nation Got Involved In World War 1 My name is Amanda Macin and Iam France soldier. My nation France got involved in World War 1 is because of imperialism. Germany and us almost went to the brink in war over the the country of Morocco. Then Russia asked us to help them out and we gave them full support. Thats when Germany declared war on us. Britain then responded in time by aiding. So allies were formed with France, Britian, and Russia. While Germany, Italy, and Austria Hungary formed alliances. Then Austria Hungary declared war on Serbia. We also wanted to regain as the top country in Europe.
The Assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinana of Austira - Hungary. In my view I think the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinana effected everybody. It all started on June 28,1914 when Acrchduke Francis Ferdinand announced he was going to visit Sarajevo. Members of Serbian terrorist group called Black Hand decided to take action and started to put a plan together. Archduke Franz Ferdinana ignored all warnings and was riding through Sarajevo in a open roof car with his wife. Then I heard the driver got lost and had to take a back road. Thats when one of the members of the Black Hand fired twice and killed Archduke Franz Ferdinanads wife first then him.
Our Battle Plan
As a already told you Iam a nurse and our battle plan was to build trences about 6 feet deep so our men couldnt get shot easliy. I got many terrible dieases while being in them treches year around, but i still am living. I watched most of my friends die in these trenches because the enemys through gernades in the trenches. The trenches were one of our tactics to fight during the war. Another tactic we used was the Schlieffen Plan, but that plan failed. Our soldiers used artillery guns which were very destructive in world war 1. They could take out anything in one shell. There were two types of artillery guns the Cannon and the Howitzer. The Cannon shoots a shell in a straight line and the Howitzer lobs a shell. The Cannon, Howitzer, and the Artillery guns were both used on ships and railroads.

This poster was all over France. The poster says "BE READY! JOIN NOW" with a picture of a soldier that is holding a game. The posters goal is to get younger kids or anyone else to join the war because they need they need them. Some of there propaganda techniques they used was Patriotic Appeals and Emotional Symbols. Patriotic Appeal is when the country uses patriotic language and symbols to appeal to national pride. Emotional Symbols is wen the country uses words to play on peoples emotions such as fear.
Russia's exit and Usa's entry Lets just say wow. It was such a shocker when we heard Russia was dropping out of the war and Usa would be joinging. We were starting to get happy because Usa was on our side now. I mean Russia droped out because of the revolution. It was sorta a good thing becasue they were against us. Usa had a very strong army. German blew up a ship that had 128 Usa passengers becasue they thought the submarine was carrying supplies to us. Russia signed a treaty with Germany called Brest-Litovsk which dropped them out of the war. Then Germany started focusing on the western front. We then knew that we would win the war with Usa on our side.
The Treaty of Versailles Our leader Georges Clemenceau wanted Germay to pay for the damage that made us suffer over the four years. Georges also wanted to make sure that a war like this would never happen again. Germany had to give us back Alsace and Lorraine, Germany must pay Reperations to us to cover all of rebuilding that had been destroyed like tons of factorys and houses. We also couldnt take possession of the area called Rhineland around the Rhine River so Germany couldnt attack again. Germany also had to take full blame for the war, pay everyones war damage, and pensions to familys of soldiers who had died. It costed them $30 billion dollars. They military had to be limited in size. They had no choice to sign the Treat of Versailles which was drawn up by the allies. Their oversea colonies were stripped too.
Christmas Its December 24,1914 and I miss my boys. I hope they have a good christmas. I send them letters, but they never send anything back so i guess they dont get them. Well today was a christmas I will never forget because for once everybody stopped fighting. Everybody came together. Most of us drank beer and wine. We also shared our food like jam and choclate. There was lights up everywhere and tons of the soldiers had a soccer game going on. What I call peace for once. It all started when another country came to our treches and said lets stop fighting for today. So our soldiers came out of treches. When my husband and me get home we are gunna have to tell our kids. This could teach them a lesson about caring and sharing. How its all not about the war.
